I have a confession to make. I am a video game nerd. I know that doesn't seem like a big deal since I am posting this on a site for geeks but even among fellow video game nerds I sometimes feel like the oddball. I'm not into first person shooters, I could never get the necessary coordination down ( I actually hurt my thumb playing halo once!). I'm not big into sports games or racing games (except destruction derby). Personally I really love cheesy Japanese RPG's that are directed more towards kids than people my age. It's not that I'm anti-violence when it comes to video games, I used to love playing mortal combat back when that raised the bar for awful ways you could show someone dying. I just like games that are simple to use but difficult enough that it doesn't get boring. And having a story line, even if it's a cheesy one that makes no sense, adds to the experience for me. For example I am currently addicted to Blue Dragon for the x-box 360. I also LOVED Zelda: Ocarina of Time back in the day. To me those represent the epitome of a good video game. Fairly easy but with enough going on to make you keep wanting to play. All my gamer friends however seem to only be into games where you shoot Nazis or beat each other up. While some of those games are fun to watch I could just never get into them. Oh well, I'll stick to my silly RPG's even if it makes me an even dorkier dork!
